Our Story

The Syfrig & Partner Baumanagement AG emerged from an unusual yet highly effective partnership. Our founders, Marlène Steiger and Romeo Syfrig, bring a unique blend of experience and expertise to our company.

Their paths crossed a few years ago at a construction management. During this time, they recognized how their different skills perfectly complemented each other: Romeo’s technical know-how met Marlène’s financial expertise and her eye for excellent service. They decided to permanently combine their competencies – and thus, Syfrig & Partner Baumanagement AG was born.

Today, they utilize this unique combination to realize construction projects for their clients that are not only technically flawless but also economically sound and tailored to the needs of the end users. They are your partners who understand that successful construction goes far beyond mere craftsmanship.

Romeo Syfrig

Romeo, an experienced site manager, knows the challenges and intricacies of construction projects firsthand. His technical expertise and understanding of the practical aspects of building form the solid foundation of our company.

OWNER & MANAGING DIRECTOR

Marlène Steiger

After a successful career in banking, where Marlène specialized in Wealth Management and worked in the markets of China and Southeast Asia, she then took on the responsibility of the back office at a construction management firm. She subsequently transitioned to the hospitality industry and oversaw the extensive renovation of the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, as well as its opening as a representative of hotel management. There, she gained valuable experience in customer service and in managing complex service processes.

PROJECT MANAGER

David Kozina

After his apprenticeship as a mason, David soon led his own teams and completed the foreman and site management school at the Sursee campus with a federal diploma. Since 2020, he has been working in construction management and successfully applies his technical skills and adept interpersonal skills in small, medium, and large projects. He particularly enjoys communication, organization, and leadership.

Josef Steiger

Joe, a civil engineer graduated from ETH Zurich and an economics graduate from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), has diverse experience in management positions, including in the textile and packaging industries. As a senior consultant and partner at Pacific Consult AG in Zurich, he was previously a relationship manager at Chase Manhattan Bank and managing director at Multivac Export AG. His career also includes marketing, sales, and market development roles at Swiss companies like Rieter and Saurer. This broad experience makes him a valuable advisor, especially for clients seeking strategic consultation.

Marco Syfrig

Marco acquired his lawyer’s license in 1986 in Lucerne. Subsequently, he worked as a partner at Ernst & Young until 1997. In 1997, he co-founded Taxpartner AG in Zurich with six other partners. In 1998, Marco got involved with Highlight Communications AG in Pratteln, where he served as CFO and CEO. Between 2004 and 2006, he was the CFO and shareholder of Fumapharm AG in Lucerne, which was sold to Biogen Idec, USA, in 2006. From 2007 to 2021, he was the CEO of the Burkhalter Group, whose board he still belongs to today. Additionally, he is a board member of Swiss Krono Holding AG.
